How to revive dried Printer Cartridges ?

Printer cartridges can stop working for a variety of reasons, but one of the most common is dry ink. When an inkjet printer cartridge sits dormant for a time, it is possible for the exterior layer of ink to dry, preventing fresh ink from being used to print the paper. Fortunately, there is a simple technique for reviving dried Printer cartridges so that it may print a few more pages, hopefully enough to get the job done.

Ink Post recommends the following steps which can help in reviving dried Printer Cartridges.

  1. Open the front lid of the printer and remove the dried Printer Cartridge. Remove the printer cartridge(s) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Soak the Printer cartridge in a bowl or sink filled with enough warm water to immerse the print head nozzles. Alternatively, rub the nozzles in the printer where the cartridges were installed with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. This will dissolve and remove dried ink that might be clogging the printer, causing the pages to print poorly.
  3. Next, wipe the Printer cartridges dry with paper towels. Thoroughly dry the nozzles with a soft, lint-free cloth once the cleaning process is complete.
  4. Insert the Printer Cartridge back into the printer carefully. Print a test page, which should now print without any issues.
  5. Although, the above steps resolves the issue temporarily, but for a long term solution, you should look to replace the cartridge with a fresh one as soon as possible.
